The company was established with the objective to satiate the ascendant demand for entertainment, health educational and recreational facilities.

With a strategic growth plan in mind, the company was the first to introduce the concept of Mobile Amusements Center in India in 1990 until 1992.  The company successfully took the Mobile Amusement Centers through a large number of cities in Western and Northern India.  This provided a first hand experience into visitor profiles, preferences and patterns.

Simultaneously, in house research and development and manufacturing facilities were developed to strengthen the base for growth.

Polo Amusement Park Limited, the flagship of the Polo Group of companies was incorporated as a public limited company in 1989, registered with the registrar of the companies, Delhi and Haryana, India.

The Polo Group have been promoted by Mr. Balwant Singh Chawla and his brother Mr. Santokh Singh Chawla.  Having experienced to travel around the world, the promoters saw the tremendous potential for entertainment and recreational facilites set out in an ambience of traditional Indian culture.

Public preference and demand showed the way for growth and Polo brought to the Delhites a water park under the name of "Village club".  The facilities provided includes India's largest water slide, Asia's fastest water slide - Aqua Shute, Wave Pool and Lazy River amongst a host of world class water based rides.

In 1999, the group entered into its second phase of growth with the incorporation of a new company, the Polo Amusement (Nagpur) Private Limited.  The company purchased 300 acres of land which and the 60 acres has been developed a fully operational amusement and water park with the capacity to cater a 1000 visitors per day.  The Nagpur park proposed to launch the a Safari Park, stunt shows, ice skating facilities by 2004, star hotel facilities by March 2005 and a state of the art academy for research and training in different fields of amusement and water park industry.

Taken as a Theme Park Guru, Mr. Santokh Singh Chawla is presently the 1st Vice President of the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries and member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, USA.

After completing his school education from a public school, Mr. Santokh Singh Chawla did B. Pharmacy.  He commenced his business career in medical line and later joined up with his brother to form Namdhari Electricals and Namdhari Electronics Pvt. Ltd.  He mastered completely intricacies of Video Recording in all its technical aspects and gained a thorough know-how of the film industry.  He  was a decision maker as to which feature films to buy on copy-right basis for video recording.  He developed the electronic business very extensively. 

He entered the amusement line with Mr. Balwant Singh and has gained mastery over operations, technical, administrative aspects of the industry. 

He is widely travelled and has frequently visited all countries of Europe, South East Asia, U.S.A., C.I.S. countries and Russia.   He has attended various seminars, exhibitions and training courses connected with operations of amusement and water park industry. 

Very much soft spoken with a convincing expression he has achieved a great expertise in Public Relations and marketing which quality of his paid rich dividends to the company.
